There is a lot to do in Resident Evil 6. One of the biggest criticisms leveled at Resident Evil 5 and 6 is that the series had completely moved away from its survival horror roots.
The first game was a tense, nervous experience in a scary mansion where anything could jump out at you from the shadows at any time. While Resident Evil 6 made some attempt to placate these criticisms by having Leon's chapter be more horror-focused, fans still weren't happy because the other three campaigns piled on the action.
Most importantly, the most effective way of dealing with monsters in the game is running straight at them and punching them, which is the opposite of horror. One criticism that cannot be leveled against Resident Evil 6 is that it doesn't think big enough. Whereas most games in the series are set in a single location that the player slowly uncovers over the course of the campaign, Resident Evil 6 is a properly cinematic experience to rival the movies.
The four campaigns are truly globe-trotting adventures where each can start and end in a completely different country. The story kicks off with the killing of the zombified President of the United States and takes on armed insurrections, monster viruses, missile attacks, and a massive plane crash.
It's the most epic Resident Evil has ever been. While these days fans seem to be getting a great Resident Evil game every year, after Resident Evil 6 there was a five-year gap until Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. There they find out that Sherry's boss, Derek C.
Simmons, is the one behind the C-Virus bioterrorist attack. Sherry informs Leon that she is actually supposed to meet up with Simmons in Lanshiang. Before they can finish their conversation, they are attacked by the Ustanak, and once defeated the two pairs agree to meet up at the rendezvous point. When Jake and Sherry finally arrive at the meet-up location, they find Leon and Helena in a face-off against Simmons, who readily admits that he is the one behind the outbreak and explains that he did it in order to maintain both U.
Simmons then proceeds to order his guards to shoot down Leon and Helena. While in cover, Leon asks Jake and Sherry to escape while they settle their personal score with Simmons. They leave, but not before Sherry hands Leon an SD card containing vital research information regarding Jake's antibodies. Jake and Sherry manage to escape, but are captured once again by Neo Umbrella.
Jake and Sherry find themselves trapped in Neo Umbrella's underwater facility at the bottom of the ocean. Before they escape, Chris tells Jake that he not only knew his father, but he is also the one that killed him. Jake, now taken over by his emotions, reflexively pulls out his gun and proceeds to fire a one-off shot at Chris, just barely grazing Chris' face. Before the situation could get any more intense a massive B. Knowing how vital Jake's blood is, Chris tells Jake and Sherry to escape while him and Piers take on the creature.
When trying to escape from the facility, the Ustanak shows up again for a final confrontation with Jake and Sherry. After finally putting down the Ustanak, they are able to escape from the facility. Thanks to Jake's blood a vaccine for the C-Virus has been distilled, and the outbreak is gradually contained.
In the Secret Ending which is obtained by completing Ada's campaign we see that Jake continues the fight against the B. Ada's campaign was originally unlocked following the completion of the three main campaigns, but it was patched to allow players to start it immediately.
On every subsequent release of the game, Ada's campaign is available by default with no patch required. It is the only campaign to lack a partner character unless played in co-op and the second player takes control of " Agent ".
Although presumed dead, Carla tries one last attack against the real Ada, after having injected herself with a powerful dose of the C-Virus , but is killed.
As Leon and Helena battle with Derek Simmons , Ada reaches the lab where Ada's clone was developed and destroys everything. She then receives a call from someone, accepting a new assignment. Unlike the other 3 campaigns, Ada's doesn't get an after credits epilogue like the others, but instead unlocks a Secret Ending. Resident Evil Wiki Explore. Main content. Genesis Apocalypse Extinction. Right now, fans of the Resident Evil franchise are looking forward to Village 's upcoming DLC, and beyond that, many fans believe that Resident Evil 9 will bring the story began with RE7 to an end.
However, with this emphasis on the Winters family, the only long-standing character who has really had a presence lately is Chris Redfield. Of course, the same could be said of short-lived characters too. Resident Evil 6 was effectively the last co-op game in the franchise, and in doing so, it told stories through the eyes of characters like Leon, Chris, and their partners.
Sherry Birkin's partner, though, was arguably the most interesting. Jake Muller, or Jake Wesker, was the son of Albert Wesker, a hardened mercenary, and a man whose blood was the cure. User Info: Plant I scratched my head at Chris going back to the same bar in Europe to eat a steak and Jake happening to be riding under Sherry's plane.
Each story feels weak because they are just a collection of events that barely go together. How did Ada see Leon's plane then Jake and Sherry a minute later? They met Leon, had a boss fight and got across town in like 3 minutes. User Info: sbn4. Leon's is stupid because of Helena being let go with no repercussion to her actions. I love Helena, but that is just wrong and dumb that they went with a happy, feel good ending complete with a dumb one liner by Leon at the end.
I don't care how much good you did, but if you have a hand albeit indirectly in a terrorist attack let alone killing the president, you would be screwed. Jake's is also dumb with the "50 dollars line" and him watching Sherry's plane leaving. How does he know that's hers? Chris' is ok, but as Plant mentioned, its dumb that he went back to the exact same bar that isn't in China to have a steak.
His was about the only ending that was decent because of the scenes prior to the bar scene. I personally liked Ada's the most. Her just blasting everything in sight and showing some form of emotion was cool. And then as corny as it was, I like her bringing it back and taking up another job. But that might be my Ada bias speaking. I think Ada's "ending" is nothing special. She just got mad, destroyed the lab then got a new job while doing the stupid cliche-walking-away-from-an-explosion exit.
Lame as hell. She's lame in RE6 anyway. Jake's is stupid and happy too, but still nowhere as dumb as Leon's ending. Chris' in my opinion is the most decent of all. Ignoring the recycling of that same bar just to eat a steak, the emotion was fitting for the conclusion of his campaign. I read Chris' campaign being considered as the worst of the fout because it's too action-packed, even I may agree also, however its focus on Chris' character was great until the ending, in my opinion.
