So much of the magic has to do with the Cast Members — they go above and beyond every single day for their guests. I never went to Disney World as a child. I remember weeks at the beach with extended family, where I would play my heart out in the sand with my brothers. I remember trips for church retreats, where we would stay with other families and enjoy being with friends.
We went to Muskoka Lake in Canada, where my father vacationed as a child. The first time I went to Disney World I was in college — my former high school teacher needed an additional chaperone for a school trip, and I was the lucky one who got the job. And I absolutely had a blast. I think I rode Tower of Terror 15 times in one day — can you imagine pulling that off now? This was back before Fastpasses were a thing.
And apparently back when overalls were fashionable. It was a great trip and I definitely enjoyed it, but it was still just a theme park in my head. It was a simple thing, really, that made me a Disney fan for life.
My parents happened to be in Orlando for work at the same time, and they were renting a house down there. Perfect, right? Free lodging. Our kids both got sick. Really sick. Pneumonia and breathing treatments sick. We were exhausted, no one was sleeping well, and the first half of our trip was basically a nightmare.
But — the kids started to improve. We started to sleep a bit and feel human again. What do you think about taking our son to Disney World? My husband had never been — like ever. Iv been 8 times and after 2 I learned how to get around the lines and actually can navigate this park with ease.
Come on Disney , give those that are booking into your expensive hotels some incentive to keep reserving those rooms. You can check Disney World park rules here. In WDW line wait times are long because there are no shows, no parades, no entertainment, and limitations and restrictions on park hopping hours, and park hours are less than normal. There is nothing elses for park guests to do other than stand in lines. It is what it is. Eisner was the 2nd coming of Walt, Bob Eiger turned the place into a money machine.
